Everything Gina Showalter writes is gold. This is no exception. Not many authors can write a character that makes you love their faults. Gina is rare indeed. She can show you a character that has a lot of things you might not like in a person, but you still find you love that person that she has created.Tags : The Vampire's Bride (Atlantis, Book 4) [Gena Showalter] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Vampire Bride Atlantis Book 4 Gena Showalter 9780373773596 Books Reviews
Love ALL books by Gena Showalter.
It is one of my favorite books in the series. It was a first predictable, like any novel of this type. However, the surprise ending made up for it.
Great, wish the book was longer and it had more of a fulfilling ending =(
I always enjoy a Gena Showalter book and this one is no different. The way she weaves more than one story into her books keeps me interested and I don't get bored. The lesser plots are just as good as the main characters. I think I could have gotten very bored with Layel, King of the Vampires, because he struck me as a bit of a whinner and his fight against his attraction to Delilah was overdone. The rest of the story of Shivawn and Alyssa was good if you remember them from THE NYMPH KING. There is also a new minor plot that is not resolved with Zane and Nola. I look forward to the next one of her books, but I really do not enjoy the ones that feature the old Gods with their distrust and unfeeling powers.
Layel and Delilah are taken during a battle with the Dragons. Two of each race is taken by the Gods, Appollo, Hestia, Posidion, Ares, and Artemis. They are forced to engage in challenges to prove which race is the strongest and the God who supports them will be the new God of Atlantis. It was somewhat like a StarTrek film.
Layel, who blames all Dragons for the death of his mate 200 yrs ago, ambushes the Dragons. The s are there to recover Lily, one of their youngsters who has gone off to prove herself and was captured by the Dragons, who are returning her. Layel fights his attraction to Delilah and she fawns on him abit to much for most of the book.
Shivwan and Alyssa are sent off to try to find out what has happened to Brodrick and Jada, two nymph warriors, and Layel. Alyssa is very weak due to her interlude with Shivwan, however, he doesn't seem to feel anything for her. She takes matters into her own hands and we follow to a happier ending. I enjoyed getting the rest of their story.
Zane is a vampire warrior, who served the Queen of the DEmons in bed because of his love for a Siren. However, the Siren came to hate him and he has hated females since and been unable to touch one without pain. Now he finds that Nola fasinates him and she is the first woman he can touch. This story will probably end in the next book.
All in all a fairly good read. I did enjoy it and it is worth the money.
Page turner
I love Vampires
I love 's
Awesome Book
I love the ongoing stories of known characters and new ones.
As I look at the Atlantis series books, I can't figure out which one to write a review about first. Do I want to talk about Gray or Layel? Which book did I like better Jewel of Atlantis or The Vampire's Bride? Man, that's a tough one. I, thoroughly, enjoyed both and well have read them a zillion times.
Okay, maybe not a zillion times, but more than once along with Catch a Mate. Marcus Brody is another fav character of mine that Showalter created.
I've decided after a couple grapes and a bite of mango, this review will be about The Vampire's Bride. Layel was more tortured than Edward Cullen and I wished Layel was real. I fell in love with his character and his pain over losing Susan was so sad. Some women eat up that kind of passion and love a guy or in Layel's case, vampire, for it. Layel, who was the vampire king in Atlantis, fell in love with a human, Susan. Atlantis was a world under the ocean that the Gods created to put their mistakes when trying to create humans.
After two hundred years of mourning Susan, Layel fell in love again with an , Delilah. But he fought his feelings for Delilah and felt guilty for his desire for her, because he felt he should continue to love and miss Susan. Man, how could you not fall in love with a leading male character like the Vampire King?
Anyhoo, as I was reading The Vampire's Bride I thought to myself this book was a cross between scary creatures and the show Survivor. Hee hee. The top creatures were whisked to this paradise island and made to prove themselves in tasks that a few of the Gods thought up for their mere enjoyment, because the Gods were bored! The Gods were not likeable beings, because they were nasty and hurt the Atlateans for their enjoyment.
I tried to read the Atlantis books in order, but after reading Layel's sneak in Heart of the Dragon I was drawn to read his story. After reading "The Vampire Bride" I wondered if there will be more Atlantis books. Does Zane find his lady love and will it be Nola? Will we read about Brand and Tagart finding their true love?
Showalter does an excellent job at weaving the love web. While reading the romance unfold, all the characters have obstacles that prevented them from declaring their love or satisfying their desire for the one they want. I just wanted to be able to yell at the characters and to tell them, "Just kiss the person already, express your love and throw them on the bed and give them the best sex they've ever had!"
Everything Gina Showalter writes is gold. This is no exception. Not many authors can write a character that makes you love their faults. Gina is rare indeed. She can show you a character that has a lot of things you might not like in a person, but you still find you love that person that she has created.
